Egypt: Luxor and surroundings

Some people call Luxor the worlds greatest open air museums. Indeed, there are a huge number of monuments in the Luxor area. Luxor is a living museum with vast numbers of ancient Egyptian monuments: the Temple of Karnak, the Temple of Luxor or the world-famous Valley of the Kings on the other side of the Nile. Other interesting things to visit are the Temple of the Hatschepsut or the Luxor Museum, which is undoubtedly one of the best equiped museums in Egypt. Because of this attractions Luxor is a major tourist destination in Egypt.
